The Hornet has standard Active Head Restraints, which use a specially designed headrest to protect the driver and front passenger from whiplash. During a rear-end collision, the Active Head Restraints system moves the headrests forward to prevent neck and spine injuries. The Nautilus doesn’t offer a whiplash protection system.

From surveys of all its subscribers, Consumer Reports’ January 2024 Auto Issue reports that Dodge vehicles are more reliable than Lincoln vehicles. Consumer Reports ranks Dodge 2 places higher in reliability than Lincoln.

The Hornet GT’s standard 2.0 turbo 4-cylinder produces 18 more horsepower (268 vs. 250) and 15 lbs.-ft. more torque (295 vs. 280) than the Nautilus’ standard 2.0 turbo 4-cylinder. The Hornet R/T’s standard 1.3 turbo 4-cylinder hybrid produces 88 lbs.-ft. more torque (383 vs. 295) than the Nautilus’ optional 2.0 turbo 4-cylinder hybrid.

The Hornet R/T can travel with zero emissions for 32 miles. The Nautilus can’t move without running its internal combustion engine.

A nine-speed automatic is standard on the Dodge Hornet, for better acceleration and lower engine speed on the highway. Only an eight-speed automatic is available for the Nautilus.

The Hornet stops much shorter than the Nautilus:

The Hornet’s optional tires provide better handling because they have a lower 40 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Nautilus’ optional 45 series tires.

The Hornet R/T handles at .87 G’s, while the Nautilus Black Label pulls only .77 G’s of cornering force in a Car and Driver skidpad test.

The Hornet R/T executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver 2.3 seconds quicker than the Nautilus Black Label (26.5 seconds @ .65 average G’s vs. 28.8 seconds @ .59 average G’s).

For greater off-road capability the Hornet GT has a greater minimum ground clearance than the Nautilus (8 vs. 7.9 inches), allowing the Hornet to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged.

The Dodge Hornet may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 550 to 650 pounds less than the Lincoln Nautilus.

The Hornet is 1 foot, 3.2 inches shorter than the Nautilus, making the Hornet easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The Hornet’s standard towing capacity is much higher than the Nautilus’ (2000 vs. 0 pounds).
