The Grand Wagoneer L has standard Active Headrests, which use a specially designed headrest to protect the driver and front passenger from whiplash. During a rear-end collision, the Active Headrests system moves the headrests forward to prevent neck and spine injuries. The G-Class doesn’t offer a whiplash protection system.

Jeep’s powertrain warranty covers the Grand Wagoneer L 1 year and 10,000 miles longer than Mercedes covers the G-Class. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 5 years or 60,000 miles. Coverage on the G-Class ends after only 4 years or 50,000 miles.

There are over 6 times as many Jeep dealers as there are Mercedes dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Grand Wagoneer L’s warranty.

The G-Class’ redline is at 6800 to 7200 RPM, which causes more engine wear, and a greater chance of a catastrophic engine failure. The Grand Wagoneer L has a 5800 RPM redline.
