To provide maximum traction and stability on all roads, All-Wheel Drive is standard on the Recon. But it costs extra on the RZ.

The Jeep Recon’s 360-degree camera is equipped with washers for its front and rear cameras, ensuring crystal-clear visibility in any weather condition. Conversely, the Lexus RZ only offers a rear camera washer, which may not provide the same level of all-weather performance.

Both the Recon and the RZ have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning and driver alert monitors.

The Jeep Recon weighs 1449 to 1791 pounds more than the Lexus RZ. The NHTSA advises that heavier vehicles are much safer in collisions than their significantly lighter counterparts.

The Recon’s electric motors produces 342 more horsepower (650 vs. 308) and 299 lbs.-ft. more torque (620 vs. 321) than the RZ 450e’s standard electric motors. The Recon’s electric motors produces 248 more horsepower (650 vs. 402) and 224 lbs.-ft. more torque (620 vs. 396) than the RZ 550e F Sport’s standard electric motors.

The Recon has a standard full size spare tire so a flat doesn’t interrupt your trip. A full size spare isn’t available on the RZ; it requires you to depend on roadside assistance and your vehicle will have to be towed.

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the Recon is 2.5 inches wider in the front and 1.7 inches wider in the rear than on the RZ.

For greater off-road capability the Recon has a 1.2 inches greater minimum ground clearance than the RZ (9.1 vs. 7.9 inches), allowing the Recon to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged.

The Recon has 3.7 inches more front headroom, .5 inches more front hip room, 1.7 inches more front shoulder room, 1.9 inches more rear headroom, 1 inch more rear legroom, 3.2 inches more rear hip room and 3.3 inches more rear shoulder room than the RZ.

The Recon has a larger cargo volume with its rear seat folded than the RZ with its rear seat folded (65.9 vs. 55.6 cubic feet).

A standard locking center console keeps your small valuables safer in the Recon. The RZ doesn’t offer locking storage for small valuables.

The Recon has a 3300 lbs. towing capacity. The RZ has no towing capacity.

Standard Trailer Sway Control on the Recon uses the Electronic Stability Control sensors to detect trailer sway, then uses individual brakes to counteract any swaying and help keep the tow vehicle and trailer steady. The RZ doesn’t offer electronic trailer sway control.

The power windows standard on both the Recon and the RZ have locks to prevent small children from operating them. When the lock on the Recon is engaged the driver can still operate all of the windows, for instance to close one opened by a child. The RZ prevents the driver from operating the other windows just as it does the other passengers.

Heated windshield washer nozzles are standard on the Recon to prevent washer fluid and nozzles from freezing and help continue to keep the windshield clear in sub-freezing temperatures. The RZ doesn’t offer heated windshield washer nozzles.

To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the Recon has a standard rear wiper. The RZ doesn’t offer a rear wiper.
